Rev. Dr. Paul

The Rev. Dr. Richard Paul was called to Faith in 2008 as the senior pastor.

For the last 14 years Pastor Paul served as an Intentional Interim Minister, leading six congregations in Inglewood, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Orange; Los Angeles and Venice through their time of transition. He has also been a leader in Interim Ministry for The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) serving various positions on the Interim Ministry Conference Board of Directors and the Coordinating Council of the National Association of Lutheran Interim Pastors. He remains on the faculty for NALIP, teaching the principles of interim ministry to pastors in the larger church.

Pastor Paul’s fulfills his avocation of music as a member of Men in Blaque, the eclectic male vocal ensemble in residence at the University of California, Irvine. Successful concerts have been presented in the Southern California region, in Europe, Central America, Korean and China. Reviews and commentaries are unanimous in their praise of this high-quality vocal ensemble.

Pastor Paul has a Doctorate in Ministry from Drew Theological Seminary (1980) and a Master of Arts in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from Pacific Christian College in Fullerton, California (1994).

The pastor’s wife Joyce is a practicing special education attorney, working for a firm in Tustin that represents school districts. They reside in Orange.
