Whole Family Discipleship
Nurturing the Faith of Families

We live in a world that challenges our Christian faith on every level and at every turn. It is hard to keep up with everything in order to prepare our children to be able to sustain their faith through out their life time. Yet that is the calling of a parent. When we present our children for baptism we promise to provide for them spiritually. Part of that is ensuring that they learn how to be more Christ-like. That process of becoming more Christ-like in what is known as Discipleship. Jesus selected 12 men to be His first core group of disciples. They in turn had disciples of their own. That is the very nature of how the church passes the Christian faith from one generation to the next. Whole Family Discipleship is a ministry that attempts to provide the care a guidance that Christ gave His disciples to your family as a whole. We at Faith Lutheran Church know that raising kids to fear and love God is more than challenging and we want to be there for you to equip and support you.
  • THE PROCESS
    • Working one family at a time.
    • A custom assessment of strengths & weaknesses of the Christian home is conducted.
    • Then custom coaching toward improvement in self-selected areas targeted to enhance spiritual growth and a closer walk as a family with Christ is provided.
    • The length of the process is set by the coach and family, but can be adjusted.
  • THE FOCUS: The areas of family growth that are of primary concern within the Whole Family Discipleships process are:
    • Covenant: Families growing through Whole Family Discipleship gain strength as a unit by developing a more Biblical Covenantal way of living together.
    • Grace: Families growing through Whole Family Discipleship live lives redeemed by the grace of God and relate to one another is reflection of that grace.
    • Empowering: Families growing through Whole Family Discipleship seek to strengthen the whole of the family by empowering members of the family to be active contributors to the families overall wellbeing.
    • Intimacy: Families growing through Whole Family Discipleship develop bonds within the family that offer intimate support through out their lifetimes.
    • Spiritual Growth: Families growing through Whole Family Discipleship seek to grow in the knowledge and love of the Triune God and of our relationship with God through the Cross of Jesus Christ.
  • The particular area that gets worked on is selected upon reflection with the coach by the family.
